Dear RRCA Convention Delegates,
I am sorry that I can’t attend the convention this year. I wish you a successful and enjoyable convention. As a past RRCA President and member of a club that joined the RRCA in 1974, I have strong concerns about some aspects of the proposed bylaws and the direction in which the current board is leading the RRCA. There is a need for a change to ensure these types of things do not continue in the future.

I hope this communication finds you in the best of health. I have just recovered from a major health challenge, and I am finally “back on the road again.”
Hope see you at the 50th anniversary convention in May. We have two major agenda items on the business meeting agenda: 1) Amendments to the By Laws from a Task Force on which I served, and 2) the election of five new Board members. Please review the By Laws document carefully concerning such matters as proxies, term limits, and other major recommendations and feel free to contact me about them.
Minority Report of the RRCA Bylaws Task Force

As a past five year member of the RRCA Board who also served on the RRCA Bylaws Task Force, I am submitting this Minority Report to register my concern that the Task Force’s recommendations pose a clear danger to the future of the RRCA as a democratic, grass-roots running organization.

At this year’s annual meeting, the future of the RRCA is at stake. The issue to be decided is simple. The first is a proposed bylaw amendment that simply states:
“Proxy voting is not allowed.”

I heard that Dallas’ bid for an annual meeting at the recent Board meeting in Cincinnati was rejected in a 4-3 vote which was unfortunately marred by personal attacks made by a couple of the Board members aimed at one of the Dallas club’s committee members.
